Please fill out this important survey from the American Horse Council!

While there are several surveys conducted in the equine industry, the American Horse Council’s (AHC) National Economic Impact Study is the most comprehensive and widely used study of the industry’s contributions to GDP including employment, volunteers, equid population, acreage, etc. broken by sectors (Recreation, Racing, Competitions, and Working Horses).

One specific focus area for this year’s study is to better understand the equine-assisted services sector.

An economic impact study is a critical tool to create an awareness of and an interest in the equine industry: providing positive relationships, including congressional and media relations, identifying the industry as a player in the local, state & national economy, and allowing the industry to advertise itself by first identifying its contributions.

Horses for Mental Health is proud to support this year's survey focused on therapy, learning and horsemanship services incorporating equines to benefit people.

Are you an organization or individual offering services incorporating horses for:

  • Therapy services such as mental health, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech & language therapy, or recreational therapy

  • Learning services such as equine-assisted learning for education, organizations, or personal development

  • Therapeutic/adaptive riding and horsemanship

Why does the American Horse Council matter?

The American Horse Council works daily to advocate for the social, economic and legislative interests of the United States equine industry.

This advocacy includes sharing best practices and ensuring health and well-being of horses, serving as a trusted voice for the horse industry to public and government authorities, and serving as a resource on programs and initiatives that will advance the equine industry.

It's hard to believe that there are communities, businesses and movements that seek to diminish the horse industry and access to horses and facilities, yet it is a continuous problem. The American Horse Council serves as our personal advocate and lobbyist, monitoring legislative activity to confront challenges to the industry, and sponsoring activities that will support and enhance equine businesses.

Each one of us who is invested in or passionately supports access to horses and equestrian facilities can strengthen our legislative voice in the USA by becoming a member of the American Horse Council through membership. You can join as an individual or organization, with several options to meet your needs and involve your support.

We all have a responsibility to ensure access to these incredible animals for years to come. Don't wait - join the American Horse Council today. We appreciate so much all they do for our equines and the equine industry!
